Community Connection - Businesses

Northside desires come along side those who are located in our immediate vicinity.  There are businesses, apartment complexes, and houses in our surrounding area that represent people who are concerned about the success of their neighborhoods.  We want to partner with these like minded, concerned people for their benefit.

I Can

Purpose

As part of our training, Next Step program we will go out into our community in the a number of times throughout the year in our effort to help stamp out hunger with the families of the students of  Hidden Valley Elementary School stocking their food closet.  Our collection of nonperishable foods for these families will be an extension of Next Step called I Can.

I Can will facilitate the connection of Northside with the community. First, the members of Northside connect with various communities by distributing information about our program and then at a later date, Northside will pick up the food and take it to the food closet at Hidden Valley Elementary.  At that time the families of these students will be able to contact Hidden Valley and receive the food items.  We will have periodic events to maintain a surplus of food.

There are several benefits to the I Can program.

  • First, to those who receive the food, the benefit is obvious.  This is a great way to make a tangible contribution to the welfare of our community in Hidden Valley.
  • Second, those involved with Next Step will be able to put feet to their faith. How many times did Jesus meet the physical needs of an individual prior to the spiritual dimension them?
  • Lastly, there is benefit to those who are giving food.  As we visit these homes that are giving food, we are establishing a relationship with them so that in the future we can invite them to events, and ultimately to church.
